The Model 193 chair is one of Inger Klingenberg's most accomplished furniture designs. Produced by France & Søn during the 1960s, it combines a curved seat and backrest with straight vertical lines. This contrast results in a composition that is at once disciplined and expressive.

Trained at the School of Interior Design in Copenhagen, Klingenberg established her own studio in 1958. Although her output was relatively small compared with some of her contemporaries, her furniture demonstrates a highly individual approach, combining sculptural clarity with an emphasis on proportion and usability.

Klingenberg's work for France & Søn, in particular, has become increasingly appreciated by collectors for its understated sophistication and excellent craftsmanship.
