Designed by Antonio Citterio for Flexform in 1996, the Carlotta armchair and matching footstool draw on the archetype of the folding chair, reinterpreting it through refined materials and careful construction.

The polished steel frame juxtaposes the cowhide seat and back. Each material retains its own distinct character, but elegant proportions and the sheen of the cowhide bring the two into harmony.

Antonio Citterio has played a significant role in contemporary Italian design, working across architecture, industrial design and furniture. His collaborations with leading manufacturers, including Flexform and B&B Italia, are characterised by a rigorous approach to proportion, material and function.
